Games with Masking Tape
Masking tape is a great tool to keep close to hand. It is easy to put down and can be peeled up without making a mess. Here are some ideas for games and activities that use masking tape:
Tape Lines
Place between 8 and 10 parallel tape lines approximately 6 inches (15 centimetres) apart on the floor. That’s it.
Encourage the kids to jump from one to the other, keep their feet on one and stretch as far as they can, run in between the lines or any other way they can interact with the lines. To change this up, do the same on the wall.
Pom Pom Hockey
This activity is both a craft and a game. Create the hockey sticks and then tape some shapes on the ground to move the pom poms or paper balls into.
Obstacle Course
Create an obstacle course with tape by placing zig zags, shapes, jumping zones and any other ideas you have on the floor. Be creative by sending the tape under tables or chairs or even up the stairs!
Hopscotch
A classic! Create a hopscotch layout with the tape, but make it extra long! No need to worry about the numbers either.
Jump in, jump out, jump on
An easy, simple game that utilizes tape and takes a lot of energy! Tape a square on the ground and call out the directions.
