Physical Activity
This activity aims to develop the fundamental movement skills of locomotion (running) and coordination (jumping, hopping, skipping, side shuffling, crawling, galloping).
How to Play
- Get the children to run around. When you say, “Go to sleep, giants!” the children need to stop where they are, lie on the floor and pretend to sleep by lying VERY still.
- While they are lying there, tell them they are dreaming about jumping around like a bunny or kangaroo.
- When you say – “WAKE UP SLEEPING GIANTS!!”, they are to get up really fast and do the action they were “dreaming” about.
- Change the movement each time they wake up.
