Physical Activity
This activity focuses on developing the fundamental movement skills of coordination (rolling, flexibility), locomotion (hopping, walking, jumping, skipping, running), and balance.
How to Play
1. Find your own personal space.
2. Using a nature theme, ask your child to try acting out the following phrases:
- Rain falling.
- Wind gusting.
- Snowflakes dancing.
- Waves rolling.
- Clouds floating.
- Leaves swaying.
- A flower growing.
Note: If a child does not want to create their own movements, ask them to copy you while you demonstrate the action phrases.
3. Ask your child(ren) about other things in nature that they would like to act out. For example, rumbling thunder, or crashing waves. Make up different nature phrases together.
