Broiled Grapefruit

Winter is citrus season! Celebrate with tasting different citrus fruit from mandarins or clementines to blood oranges and pomelos. Some citrus can be on the sour side and may not appeal to young children. By broiling grapefruit, it makes it sweeter and a nice warm treat on a cold day!

Grapefruit knife ( optional)
Ingredients
5
grapefruit
1 and 1/2 Tbsp

Instructions

1. Cut grapefruit in halves through the middle (not through the stem end). Slice a small amount off the rounded peel end of each half to help it sit flat on the baking tray. Using a grapefruit knife (or a paring knife), loosen each section to make it easier to eat.
2. Lay out all the halves on the baking tray and drizzle each with ½ tsp of maple syrup.
3. Place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes being careful not to let them brown too much. Serve immediately.
